The National Revenue Agency (NRA) reminds both individuals and legal entities in Bulgaria that September 30 is the final deadline for submitting corrective tax declarations. This opportunity allows taxpayers to amend any errors or omissions in their annual tax returns.
Who can submit corrections?
- Individuals – those who filed annual personal income tax returns.
- Legal entities – those who filed under Article 92 of the Corporate Income Tax Act.
Taxpayers are entitled to one correction only, and it must be submitted no later than September 30 of the current year following the year in which the income was earned.
Why is this important?
The NRA has already contacted nearly 13,000 individuals by email and will notify another 2,000 citizens by phone or letter. According to the agency, many of these taxpayers received:
- honoraria
- financial support from the State Fund “Agriculture”
- income from online sales in 2024
In some cases, these incomes were either not declared or incorrectly reported in tax returns.
How to verify your data
Taxpayers can compare their submitted information with the data available in the NRA’s Pre-filled Tax Return service, accessible using a Personal Identification Code (PIC) or a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES).
